PROFILE OF PASTOR Dr. HAZEL HANSON


Pastor Dr. Hazel Hanson was born in the peaceful community of Retrieve in the Parish of Hanover, Jamaica.

Hardworking, adorable, zealous, energetic, loving, honest, admirable, are but few adjectives that describe Pastor Dr. Hazel Hanson.

Dr. Hanson Migrated to Canada in 1973 and became a formable Jamaican Canadian. In 1974, she married Mr. Silbert Hanson and the union resulted in a family of four children. Pastor Hanson is a committed wife, mother and Grandmother. She is also blessed to have her wonderful adorable mother living with her.

As a young intellectually gifted woman, Pastor Hanson worked to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies. She earned an Honorary Doctors Degree in Humanities for her tireless dedication in attempting to relieve poverty, particularly children whose parents cannot afford for them to complete their education in the local and global community.

Pastor Hanson’s joy is doing God’s work with humility. When she was called by the Lord she gave up her job at Bay crest where she was serving as a medical administrator for over twenty years. Pastor Hanson has served in many areas of the church and the wider community and has been honoured for her religious and social work.

In 1992, Compassionate Outreach Foundation Inc (COFI), a registered, non-profit charitable organization, was inspired by God. This Ministry provides for the basic needs of children and adults around the world. COFI has also donated over 100 computers to schools in Jamaica, to facilitate computer-training programs and assist those in rural areas who have limited access to training for well paying jobs. COFI has sponsored orphanage homes in Haiti, Johannesburg Douentza Mali (South Africa), Nigeria, Nevis and St. Vincent. COFI has been contributing in feeding program over 60 different schools, in twelve Parishes in Jamaica Namely: Hanover, Westmorland, St. Elizabeth, St James, Trelawny, Manchester, St. Catherine, St. Andrew, Clarendon, St. Ann, Kingston and Portland.

Apart from her work with The Compassionate Outreach Foundation, Pastor Hanson was anointed by God as the Pastor of Faith Deliverance International Ministry (FDIM), based out of her hometown of Woodbridge, Ontario which is located in York Region.

Because of her faithfulness to God, the Lord used her to establish a church in Retrieve, Hanover, Jamaica. In 2009, God blessed FDIM and COFI with a beautiful church building, which is the heart and home of the ministry and its charitable work

Pastor Hanson’s objective, through FDIM and COFI is to lend a helping hand, inspire hope, and provide children with life’s essentials. “There is no greater investment than investing in children, and there is no greater honour and joy than to invest in those who cannot afford nor have the means to help themselves.

Pastor Hanson has a vision with a passion and holds steadfast to her motto, “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work”. (John 9:4)
